Thank you so very much for supporting the Friday Luncheon Discussion Club in Ottawa on the crisp morning of Feb. 13th with such an excellent presentation on ‘A Journey Through Russia’s North East Passage’. You did a marvellous job of bringing together the history, culture and beauty of the region and the features of the Soviet ice breaker. We were all impressed by the amount of background information on the different subjects you presented and the benefits of the cruise. I commend you for giving so much of your time and doing such thorough research and careful selection of your wonderful pictures. I also commend you for taking the time and expense to bring this information to us and others.

We are most grateful for your talk and show for clarifying the different issues and challenges facing citizens and politicians of the north in this difficult economic and volatile times. You also informed us very well on all the different benefits and aspects of northern sovereignty for Canada. We were most impressed by the detailed information you have on the different Russian islands and regions of the north.

It was obvious that you raised a great deal of interest in the different aspects of the Arctic and Antarctic by the many questions that were asked. I commend you for responding so thoroughly to these questions.

Again, many thanks for your kind support. It was truly a delight to hear your fine talk about Arctic and the nature of some of the Russian northern communities. We wish you every success in your future journeys.
